Promoted by and in aid of the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust

This Concert is promoted by and in aid of the Yorkshire Dales Millennium Trust and features Cantores Salicium, the Chamber Choir of the Dales which was crowned Craven Community Champions of Arts & Culture 2018.

Handel’s ever popular ‘Messiah’ is conducted by Lindy Williams, the Choir’s musical director, and the performance is accompanied on the organ by Shaun Turnbull. Vocal soloists are students from the Royal Northern College of Music. Cantores Salicium is the Priory’s principal Guest Choir.

‘I urge all who have the chance, go and see Cantores Salicium, they were superb’,
Andrew Campbell, June 2016

Performing Handel’s Messiah is very much part of European culture. It was written by a German who was living in London (and had become a British citizen in 1727). First performed in Dublin 280 years ago in 1742, it subsequently became a mainstay of European choral repertoire.

£12 per ticket including refreshments at the interval.
