Rapsquillion Shanty Singing (Middlewich Folk/Boat Festival)
June 18, 2022 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
The Festival of Europe shanty project highlights our shared European history of centuries of seafaring trade and migration. There is no better way to encapsulate this than at Middlewich Folk and Boat Festival, through the rich vocal harmonies of Rapsquillion and the sight of Salty Sam and his lifeboat near the canalside fundraising for the Royal National Lifeboat Institute (RNLI).
Rapsquillion hang around on street corners with attitude, wearing red and hurling four-part harmonies at unsuspecting passers-by. They will stalk Middlewich with their eclectic mix of songs and what you get is a unique show of musical entertainment.
Do come and sing along at their shanty sessions.
You will find them at Middlewich Wharf between 2 and 3pm and at a time to be confirmed at the Bullring.
Please donate and if you can’t be there in person we have an on line donation link too.
